Morgan Cline embodies this definition. His financial contributions are astounding, and ‘promote human welfare’ in countless ways. Pharmacy students at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa are assisted by his 5 million dollar scholarship endowment fund. He remembers how he struggled to make ends meet while a student at Drake – this fact drove Morgan to help future generations of pharmacy students. Dialysis patients in Appanoose County, Iowa are benefiting from Morgan’s gift of $500,000 to help build a new dialysis center, thus eliminating the hour long drive to receive their life-sustaining treatment. Monmouth Medical Center in New Jersey was given a 3 million dollar donation in response to the exceptional and attentive care that Morgan received while a patient there. For eleven years, the American Cancer Society has received upwards of one million dollars each year when Morgan Cline hosts the annual Cancer Ball at his estate in New Jersey. Mercy Medical Center in Centerville, Iowa has received numerous monetary gifts to both the hospital itself and to its “Legacies” Foundation, on the basis on the wonderful care that Morgan’s parents, Ogle and Lucile Cline, received while they were patients. Morgan’s $20,000 started a $100,000 fund drive by the foundation, and was later followed by a $25,000 donation. He gave another one million dollars recently, for which a wing of the hospital was named in Morgan’s honor. Morgan has given his support to the planned Morgan E. Cline Sports Complex in Centerville, a comprehensive sporting complex with multiple baseball, football, and soccer fields plus much more. Morgan has given Project Pride $100,000 for renovations to the the Drake Public Library and for the construction of the Bandshell on the Square in Centerville. The Ritz Theatre is also a beneficiary of Morgan's generosity through Project Pride. The Historic Preservation Commission in Centerville was gifted with the Historic State Street Station which now serves as a fundraising hub for the group. In Exline, the E.E. Withrow Building has been restored and gifted to the Exline Betterment Committee to use as their office. The move and restoration of the Leslie Schoolhouse in Exline was one of Morgan's Iowa projects. He has given it to the Exline Betterment Committee to be a dedicated one room school house museum. Morgan brought to fruition the Exline Hose Co. No. 1 Museum in Exline. It is a replica small town fire station that includes Exline's original fire truck, another gift from Morgan that was a project in itself to acquire. The museum serves as an archive for Exline history, with numerous artifacts and photograph that document Exline's past. Sometimes, financial contributions are not the only essential ingredient – sometimes it takes a vision. And Morgan has always been a man of vision.
